Manufacturing Case Study
Stone Hardy have been in operation since 1976 and specialise in the service and repair of tail lifts for commercial and passenger vehicles, shutter doors fitting and repair and minor body repairs on commercial vehicles. They provide nationwide coverage for tail lift and shutter service and repair, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year through their network of 65 depots around the country.
Requirements:
Through various mergers and acquisitions, the customer had a number of legacy phone systems from a mixture of suppliers across their estate, Stone Hardy had a requirement to bring their business communications up to date, while at the same time consolidating hardware to simplify the overall management of the system. An additional need to implement a single point of access into the Stone Hardy service centre, through a fully customisable Interactive Voice Response system had also been specified as a core business requirement. Stone Hardy were very specific around the project timeline as they operate on a 24 hour basis when delivering their emergency call out service to their customers. This meant that any downtime had to be both planned in minute detail and limited to how long it could last. To ensure we met these requirements, the ‘scope of work’ detailed each period of downtime, along with the timeframes to carry out a system ‘roll back’ that would be triggered if the ok to continue parameters were missed.
Solution:
Intuity Communicationsreviewed the customer’s wish list and concluded that the two largest sites; London and Manchester should each have an Avaya IP Office deployed in a Small Community Network to deliver a completely transparent user experience, despite the geographical spread of each depot that would make use of Avaya’s Ip phones configured to be remote extensions. The Interactive Voice Response was configured as a centralised deployment to enable all users to access the features, irrespective of location.
Benefits to Stone Hardy:
A simplified communications infrastructure with fewer points of failure that are manageable remotely, without the need to attend each depot. Customer experience was improved through the newly implemented Interactive Voice Response which enables all depots to access it 24 hours per day. Network administration time has been reduced through the ease of adding new users to the system, which is a significant improvement to the outdated system.
